I'm hardly an unbiased observer but I really can't see how Andrew Marr, after reading that, could possibly cling to the idea that this is the most right-wing Britain he remembers. This is perhaps another example of the progressive liberal blindness which makes it impossible for, say, BBC employees to believe they work for an organisation anything other than politically impartial. Instead the BBC is of course progressively liberal, which to men like Andrew Marr probably seems neutral, for neutral is a relative term dependent on the social waters you swim in.

I think we currently have the most right-wing electorate on cultural issues since the 1980s. Which is largely a reaction to the cultural impacts of New Labour - perpetuated by the Tories 2010-24 - especially on immigration but there is also a reaction to Net Zero and Wokery.
